# Unify Tasks API

> Interact with tasks in the Unify platform.

## Overview

A *task* is a unit of outreach work such as sending an email, making a phone
call, or completing a manual action. Tasks are tied to people and assigned to
users. Every task tracks its own type, status, priority, and due date.

The Tasks API lets you manage these resources programmatically:

* [List tasks](/developers/api/tasks/tasks/list)
* [Create a task](/developers/api/tasks/tasks/create)
* [Get a task](/developers/api/tasks/tasks/get)
* [Update a task](/developers/api/tasks/tasks/update)
* [Delete a task](/developers/api/tasks/tasks/delete)
* [Complete a task](/developers/api/tasks/tasks/complete)
* [Query tasks](/developers/api/tasks/tasks/query-tasks/create)

## Usage

### Request format

The base URL of all API requests to the Tasks API is:

```shell theme={null}
https://api.unifygtm.com/tasks/v1
```

All APIs are built on REST principles and use standard HTTP methods to perform
operations.

### Authentication

API keys are used to authenticate requests to the Tasks API. You can generate
an API key in Unify by navigating to [Settings → Developers](https://app.unifygtm.com/dashboard/settings/integrations/api-keys).

To authenticate a request, include the following header in your request:

```http theme={null}
X-Api-Key: <token>
```

Replace `<token>` with your Unify API key.

### Pagination

List endpoints are cursor-paginated. Each response includes a `next_cursor`
value; pass it as the `cursor` query parameter to fetch the next page. A `null`
`next_cursor` means there are no more results.

### Rate limits

The Tasks API is rate-limited to 100,000 requests per five minute window. We
may introduce daily limits in the future to prevent extraordinary usage.

### OpenAPI specification

The OpenAPI specification can be found [here](https://api.unifygtm.com/tasks/v1/openapi.json).
