## Overview

Chat is the conversational interface for working in Unify. Describe what you
want to accomplish, provide the relevant context, and work with the results in
the same conversation. You can research companies, build lists, update CRM
records, and prepare personalized outreach.

For example, compare a group of accounts by company size and ownership, then
save the accounts you want to prioritize. Results such as tables and sequence
previews open alongside the conversation for you to inspect and refine.

## Start a conversation

<Steps>
  <Step title="Describe the task">
    Open [chat](https://app.unifygtm.com/dashboard/chat) and describe the result
    you want. Include who or what to work on, the criteria to apply, and how
    you want to use the result.

    For example:

    > Compare these accounts in a table with company name, domain, headcount,
    > and owner. Use their saved Unify data.

    When a request depends on particular information, name the source. For
    example, ask for the account owner in your CRM or for research from a
    company's website.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add context">
    Type `@` to select a company, person, list, sequence, or another item in
    Unify. This gives chat a specific item to work with. You can also attach
    a file using the paperclip, such as a CSV of target accounts or a brief
    describing your audience.

  </Step>

  <Step title="Review and refine the result">
    Read the response and open its tables or other results to inspect the
    details. Ask a follow-up in the same conversation to change criteria,
    add context, or investigate a result.

    For example: “Save the companies with at least 100 employees to a new list
    named Mid-market planning accounts.”

    If you want to review a proposed action before it runs, make that part of
    your request: “Show me the proposed changes and wait for my approval.”
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Continue your work

Open a previous conversation from the chat history to continue it. You can
leave chat while work is running and return to inspect the result. Use
**New chat** when you want to start a separate conversation.

To share a conversation with a teammate, click the **Share conversation** icon
and copy its link.
Members of your Unify workspace can open the shared conversation. The link
shows the conversation's current messages, including follow-ups you add later.
